Former President Goodluck Jonathan aide Reno Omokri has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s for publicising the overseas medical treatment approval for the overseas treatment of ailing former Vice President, Alex Ekwueme.
Ekwueme Who was admitted into a hospital after lapsing into coma at his Enugu residence last weekend.
Omokri said, there was nothing special or extraordinary about the gesture that should warrant the publicity the approval had generated.
He wrote on his Facebook page,Ekwueme abroad treatment is part of his entitlement as a former Vice President and should not be used to score cheap political points.
“President Muhammadu Buhari didn’t do Ekwueme a favour. President Goodluck Jonathan purchased bulletproof vehicles for Buhari without announcing it.
“It is only a petty and shallow administration eager to score cheap political points with a sick man’s health that announces that the President has given the man his due!”
The president spokesman Garba Shehu, announced that Buhari had directed that the ailing former vice-president be flown abroad for medical treatment.
Shehu said Buhari offered to help after receiving a brief on the medical condition of elder statesman.
