Hillary Clinton blast President Trump’s United Nations speech as‘very dark, dangerous’

The former United States presidential candidate Hillary Clinton joined Stephen Colbert on “The Late Show” and criticized President Trump’s UN speech as “very dark, dangerous.”

She said, ‘I thought it was very dark, dangerous, not the kind of message that the leader of the greatest country in the world should be delivering.’his approach should have been diplomatic: ‘What I hoped the president would have said is something along the lines of “we view this as dangerous to our allies, to the region and even to our country. We call on all nations to work with us to try to end the threat caused to us by Kim Jong-un.”

Trump told diplomats from 193 nations that the United States is prepared to “totally destroy” North Korea.

He said,“The United States has great strength and patience. But if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea,.

Trump threatened to destroy the North Korea regime if Kim Jong-un continues to threaten the US.

She said: ‘Rocket man is on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime,’ Trump warned gathered world leaders, picking up a derisive term from one of his tweets over the weekend.
Trump began his remarks at the United Nations with a brash statement of U.S. military might as he defended his ‘America first’ agenda to a group of world leaders.

The former united States secretary said,“What I’d hoped the President would have said was something along the lines of ‘We view this as dangerous to our allies, to our region and even to our country. We call on all nations to work with us to try to end the threat posed by Kim Jung Un.’ And not call him Rocket Man, the old Elton John song, but to say it clearly: we will not tolerate any attacks on our friends or ourselves.”

She said the fact she’s a woman ‘does seem to get him agitated.’ And she mocked Putin for ‘manspreading’ at one meeting. That’s an aggressive posture where a man sits with legs splayed.
And she says Putin is ‘tied up with his anger and disappointment’ with the Soviet Union’s collapse.

Trump “should lead with the commitment of trying to avoid conflict however he can,” she added”.

Talking about the last election, she said, “so strongly that they succeeded in messing with our democracy” by influencing voters.

“I don’t think anybody can, with a straight face, say the Russians did not set out to influence our election,” she said. “And they did so.”
