The Nigeria Business man Aliko Dangote is a Nigerian  born billionaire and Africa richest man as rate by Forbes, born on the 10th of April year 1957 to Muslim parents, Mariya Sanusi Dantata and Mohammed Dangote in Kano State, Nigeria.

Aliko Dangote is married with wives and children Halima Bello Dangote ,Mariya Dangote ,Fatima Dangote and an adopted son Abdulrahman Fasasi

The Kano state born Business man, was born rich,He is the great-grandson of Alhaji Alhassan Dantata, the richest African at the time of his death in 1955.

He was conferred with the Nigerian national award of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, (GCON) by Goodluck Jonathan administration in 2011.

As a teenager Dangote was committed to business by selling sweets candy pack and other items just to make money.so he was interested in business right from tender age.

Dangote Group of company was established as a small trading firm in 1977 with #500,00 loan from his uncle Alhaji Sanusi Dantata at age 21 after his study in Egypt, He was involved in trading in local commodities and building materials, he moved into Lagos from Kano and continued trade in cement and commodities the same year.

Aliko Dangote graduated from Al-Azahar University, Cairo, Egypt where he studied Business,he operate his business in Nigeria and other Africa countries , including Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, South Africa and Zambia.

Dangote has expanded to cover food processing, cement manufacturing, and freight. The Dangote Group also dominates the sugar market in Nigeria and is a major supplier to the country’s soft drink companies, breweries, and confectioners.

The Dangote Group has moved from being a trading company to being the largest industrial group in Nigeria including Dangote Sugar Refinery, Dangote Cement, and Dangote Flour.

He is very good friend to Nigeria former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the then Nigeria political party in control of centre ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP). he played a prominent role in the funding of Obasanjo’s re-election campaign in 2003, to which he contributed over N200 million (US$2M).

He gave N50 million (US$0.5M) to the National Mosque under the aegis of “Friends of Obasanjo and Atiku”, and contributed N200 million to the Presidential Library. These controversial gifts to members of the ruling People’s Democratic Party have contributed to concerns over continued graft despite highly-publicized anti-corruption drives during Obasanjo’s second term.

Dangote was interested in buying a 16 percent stake in Premiership side Arsenal belonging to Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith. Dangote later denied With an estimated current net worth of  US$ 12.9 billion as rank by Forbes in 2017 with 105 position in the world and first in Africa, he was ranked by Forbes as one of the richest Nigerian citizens and richest person of African descent in the world toppling Mohammed Al Amoudi ($10 billion) and Oprah Winfrey ($3.1) billion.

In July 2012, Dangote approached the Nigerian Ports Authorities to lease an abandoned piece of land at the Apapa Port, which was approved.

He later built facilities for his flour company there. In the 1990s, he approached the Central Bank of Nigeria with the idea that it would be cheaper for the bank to allow his transport company to manage their fleet of staff buses, a proposal that was also approved.

Alhaji Dangote and six other prominent Nigerians were conferred Honorary Citizenship of Arkansas State by Governor Mike Beebe who also proclaimed 30 May of every year as Nigeria Day in the US.

Dangote Group of company also has major investments in real estate, banking, transport, textiles and oil and gas where is currently building refineries in Lagos Nigeria
