Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta future at Barcelona is far from certain, after he refused to commit to the La Liga club.
Andres Iniesta says he must “evaluate a lot of different things” before deciding whether or not to renew his contract at the Nou Camp.
According to skysports,Iniesta, though, has since attempted to clarify those comments by telling Spanish radio station Onda Cero: “I never said I wasn’t going to renew my contract, but rather to evaluate a lot of different things.
He said, “It isn’t an economic matter. There are several factors that have joined together, personal, the moment of the season, and it hasn’t been easy.
“I need to make an honest decision and one that is best for everyone.”
Iniesta, 33, started just 13 league matches last season, while in total the club captain played 36 games in all competitions.
The Spaniard made his Barcelona debut in 2002 and in the intervening period has won seven league titles, five Copa del Reys and five Champions Leagues.
